Symptom

The RC_BW_COLLECT_ANALYSIS_DATA report displays the available BW/4HANA versions in the Target Version field, but the target version cannot be selected.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to transaction SE38.
  2. Execute the report RC_BW_COLLECT_ANALYSIS_DATA.

Cause

The report is designed to display version information only; the target version is not intended to be selectable. The analysis focuses on the following aspects, which are independent of the target version:

  • Object Compatibility (SAP BW 7.30 or higher)
  • Source System Readiness (SAP BW 7.30 or higher)
  • Custom Code Compatibility (requires additional preparations)
  • Add-On Compatibility
  • Database Sizing

Resolution

No action is required. This is the expected system behavior, and the inability to select a target version does not impact the SAP BW conversion to any SAP BW/4HANA release.

As of SAP Note 3061594, version 22, the Target Version selection is enabled. To enable this functionality, apply SAP Note 3061594 version 22 or higher. It is recommended to always implement the latest available version of the note.
