3155260 - The maint user password is not updated even if hide_maintuser_pwd is enabled - SRS

Symptom

  • The maintenance user password automatic changing feature will work if you enable the following parameters on the SAP Replication Server
    • hide_maintuser_pwd
    • maintuser_pwd_expiration
  • However, if a DSI connection encounters some connection error at startup, the password is no longer updated.(rs_maintuser table is not updated.)
  • For example, when restarting the Replication Server, automatic password change no longer works after connection error if the target RDB ASE is offline.

    Failed to alter connection 'RDS.RDB' to set 'hide_maintuser_pwd' on as validation of authentication method for the connection failed. Please make sure the maintenance user login of the connection is valid and the data server authentication method is set to 'ASE'.
  • This feature does not resume after RDB went online and established DSI connection.
