3156296 - Financial Data Source cannot be Extracted using ODATA

You receive an error message as "500 SAP Internal Server Error" or a similar error message or the data source times out while trying to use ODATA to extract data.

SAP Business By Design

1. Go to the Design Data Sources Work Center.
2. Choose the data source you want to use for ODATA and click on Build OData Queries
3. Enter the selections and/or filters you want to use.
4. You will see the error above or the query will time out.

There are mandatory parameters (variables) of the data sources to ensure in complex cases that correct data is fetched from a business point of view. This means for example that when accounting period 001 is given, it would need a correct fiscal period of the set of books. Without a selection on these fields, 001 could be January or April or any other month.

Add additional selection on the Fiscal Year Variant that corresponds to the chosen Set of Books to ensure the correct extraction for the selected fiscal years and periods.

Additionally, it may be required to add more selections on other fields (for example G/L Account etc) to ensure that the data volume is restricted sufficiently.
