You would like to update prices in Material Master Data with Balance Sheet Valuation. However, you can't find the option.

In the past (R/3 early releases), balance sheet valuation programs have stored their results in tax/commercial price fields, however it has a variety of disadvantages. That’s why the Valuation Alternatives have been set up (in R/3 release 4.6C!).

Some of the advantages of the Valuation Alteratives compared to tax/commercial price fields are:

• Clear semantics
• High accuracy
• History
• Identification of zero values
• Multi-currency & (indirectly) multi-ledger enabled

When releasing balance sheet valuation procedures for S/4HANA Cloud, we have decided to not offer the option to combine steps via tax/commercial price fields any longer.
