Symptom

Instead of typing formulas manually, you can press Ctrl + Space to display the script editor content assistant to choose from a list of values that are valid for that location in the formula.

But for some workstations, the Ctrl + Space does not work and nothing is displayed.
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud - Analytics Designer
Cause
If pressing Ctrl + Space doesn't display any values, make sure the hot key is not used elsewhere. For example, in some Chinese input methods, this hot key is used to switch language between Chinese and English. In this case, you need to turn off the input method for the hot key to take effect in the application.
Resolution
- Select Windows Settings > Time & Language
- Select Language
- Select Keyboard
- Select Input language hot keys
- From "Advanced Keys Settings", in table Hot keys for input languages:
- Select the line with Ctrl+Space in column Key sequence
- And then click button Change Key Sequence - In dialog Change Key Sequence at field Key: Select any key but not Space, for example Page_Up and click button OK
- Back in the previous dialog:
- Click on line with Ctrl+Space in column Key sequence and then click button Change Key Sequence…
- In dialog Change Key Sequence at field Key: Select any key but not Space, for example Page_Down and click button OK
- Back in the previous dialog:
- Make sure that there is no more entry with Ctrl+Space in the Key Sequence, then click Apply button and finally OK button
- Restart the Analytics Designer and check the Ctrl + Space can display the content assistant for Script Editor.
