3156937 - Error Your Seamless login has failed - Onboarding 1.0

Symptom

 "Your Seamless login has failed. Please contact your system administrator." error appears when accessing Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

  1.  Login to Customer Instance using the Support Access provided and choose Onboarding.
  2. Upon going into the Onboarding Dashboard, you'll encounter the Seamless Login Error
  3. Login to Splunk and search for "OnboardingId *saml*"
  4. You'll see an error message same as below:
  5. ERROR [AccountName] [] [] [] KMS.XpressHR.SSO.SAML20.AssertionConsumerService - Certificate serial# [1A23B4CC] does not match [567HJKL8].

Cause

Certificate serial number does not match value in Super Admin

Resolution

The SAML Certificate Serial Number can only have either of the two values: 1A23B4CC or 567HJKL8

Change the value in the super admin. See steps below:

  1. Update Security.SAML20.X509Certificate.SerialNumber
  2. Super admin > Account Options > Security.SAML20.X509Certificate.SerialNumber
  3. If the value is 1A23B4CC, change it to 567HJKL8. Or the other way around.
