3157072 - Inconsistent Code List Error Message When Adding Values to a List Field

You are trying to update a value of a KUT list value field and receive the following errors:

• Code list inconsistent; remove duplicate code values.
• Enter code descriptions in all selected languages.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Go to Customer.
2. Go to Accounts.
3. Open any Account.
4. Start Adaptation.
5. Locate the field XYZ (Where XYZ is your KUT field).
6. Click Edit button.
7. At the field screen select the pencil icon to edit the field properties.
8. Click at Add Row.
9. Fill the new line with code and description.
10. Add the language descriptions.
11. Save.
12. Error message is displayed.

 *This is just an example, could happens on any screen.

Front-end only display 300 records of values (for a single langue, if two languages it will be 150), so it cannot validate which value is duplicated in the list.

However, when adding a new line and defining a code that already exists (and it's not visible in the list) it will create a duplicated entry, which also be duplicated in the language description.

To check all values for duplicate entries you need to download the csv file.

1. Go to Customer.
2. Go to Accounts.
3. Open any Account.
4. Start Adaptation.
5. Locate the field XYZ (Where XYZ is your KUT field).
6. Click Edit button.
7. At the field screen select the pencil icon to edit the field properties.
8. Click Download.
9. Open the csv file.
10. Notice there are much more records in the csv file than the displayed in front-end.
11. Search for duplicate records (with same name or code of the new one you are trying to add).
12. Perform the changes corrections in the Value code or name (duplicates are not allowed).
13. Upload the file.
