3157734 - Planning Account Name on Promotion Shows UUID

Symptom

The Planning Account Name for some of the promotions in your system are showing a UUID (long letter and number combination).

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Campaigns work centre
  2. Go to the Promotions view
  3. In the Promotios OWL, you see that some entries in the 'Planning Account' column show a UUID instead of an account name.
  4. When you navigate to the planning account link directly by clicking the UUID from the Promotion OWL, a target group that has no name maintained opens.

Cause

It is not mandatory by system default to maintain a name during target group creation.

If a promotion is created for account type Target Group (TG) and you enter a TG that has no name maintained, the system has no name that it can display and it defaults to that Target Group's UUID.

Resolution

This is expected system behaviour.

Maintain a name for the Target Group. That name will then be reflected/ shown in the Promotion.

To avoid this from happening your administrator can set the name field in the target group creation screen as mandatory.
