3158005 - Sudden ASE procedure cache exhaustion made system unresponsive - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE system suddenly became unresponsive due to 100% ASE procedure cache utilization.
         
    Error: 701, Severity: 17, State: 3
    There is not enough procedure cache to run this procedure, trigger, or SQL batch. Retry later, or ask your SA to reconfigure ASE with more procedure cache.
          
  • This process hit an "infected with signal 11" error in the module Optimize
        
    Current process (0x6ce90254) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
    Current Process is running on Engine 0
    Address 0x0x00000000018e3c7d (Optimize+0x6ed), siginfo
