3158489 - Source of Division from Profitability Segment

You post goods movement for an outbound delivery and check the generated FI document. The Division field is updated in the Profitability Segment which is not as expected. You expect that the Divison field is the same as sales order.
You would like to know the determination logic for the Division field.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Create sales order and save.
2. Deliver the sales order to outbound delivery.
3. Do picking and post goods issue.
4. Check FI document in the Profitability Segment, the divison field is not the same.

The Division field in the Profitability Segment is determined according to the material master of Sales Order item's material.
It's not determined by the Division of the Sales Order header data.

It is standard design.
