Error 'Too many records selected, Server out of memory. Restrict your selection' when selecting data from app Stocks for Posting Date.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Go to app Stock for Posting Date (MB5B);
2. Leaving the Material Number blank, fill the Plant/s, Storage Location/s;
3. Execute;
4. Report takes a long time to execute, or doesn't finish/times out;
   OR
   Error M7555 "Too many records selected, Server out of memory, Restrict your selection" raised.

• The app Stocks for Posting Date is not designed to be executed with high volumes of materials;
• The standard limit of results is set for 100,000;
• Running inventory for plant or company code can result in a too big data search which will cause performance issues.

• Report 'Stock on Posting Date' should be used with a Material Number/Material Range filled. If entering in a Material number or a Material Range for say 1000 - 2000 materials the report will execute immediately;
• 'Stock on Posting Date' was designed to display warehouse stocks of materials. It was not considered to be used in a way of displaying mass data such as stocks for an entire Plant/Storage Location. It is unrealistic for the system to display/output a large volume of materials to the screen in the report Stock on Posting Date. By entering the Material Number/Material Range this would increase the performance significantly.
• The threshold can be maintained by Configuration Activity 105687 “Set Record Limits in Reports”.
• A new app named '"Analyze Stock in Date Range" can also be used to check and download the stock status.
