Symptom

Error 'Too many records selected, Server out of memory. Restrict your selection' when selection data from app Stocks for Posting Date (MB5B).

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2202

Cause

Increasing number of internal tickets about memory dumps from reporting transactions have been detected.

So some counter measures have been added to avoid this kind of issue: if the number of lines in internal tables exceed a certain threshold we fire this message and force the end-user to restrict the data.

Resolution

The threshold can be maintained by SSCUI 105687 “Set Record Limits in Reports”.

A new app named 'Analyze Stock in Date Range' can also be used to check and download the stock status.
