3158599 - Import fails when same field configured in two different countries with different configuration

Error is thrown during Imports when we have a same field configured in two different countries with different configuration.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Employee Data Import

Prerequisites

• Take any country specific field and set it as Non Mandatory and visibility as editable. In our example, Custom_String2
• Configure the field: Custom_String2 attributes as Picklist in one of the example Country NLD and the same field, Custom_String2 is NOT configured as a picklist for another example country IND.

1. Go to Import Employee Data
2. Action : Download the template 
3. Select the entity(job information/comp information) where you maintained the configuration and Country : NLD
4. Import the file without including the Custom_String2 field
5. Result:

        Import fails with Invalid picklist error referring the field : Custom_String2, though it is Non-Mandatory and not included in the import file.

PS: If data is maintained in the system already then error will be thrown, i.e. Custom_String2 field already holds a value in the profile but column is not included in the import file.

 

 

Due to the difference in configuration for different countries for the same field, the mismatch happens and it fails with Invalid picklist error.

Our engineering team is planning to fix this in b2211 release based on the complexity of the issue and risks involved. However, not confirmed on the release currently.

Workaround:

Please add the erroring field in a column in template as well as provide the value of the field and import the file. It will be successful.
