3160615 - I can't access a task in Workflow Accelerator even if I am an administratorif

Symptom


I am an administrator in the Workflow Accelerator and our workflow is a public process - everyone can access it, edit and start new case. But I realized I cannot access some tasks, because of missing permissions. I get an error: 'You don't have permissions to edit or complete this task'.



Resolution


In Workflow Accelerator can a user restrict rights on:

  1. organization level - to create or delete processes
  2. process level - to access cases or to edit the process
  3. task level - to complete the task or to access it

If you have access to process and can see that everyone can access and change the process (public process), someone has changed the access rights on the task level. To change the access rights go to that you want to complete in the workflow process and check the last tab 'Access rights'.

Please note:

  • Adjustment of access rights is also a change in the process, so you will need to publish the new version of you process to make it work
  • The changes will work only for the new started cases. Already started cases will remain untouched. You can complete them or delete.
