3160946 - SAP Solution Manager Connector: Problem with secure communication

Symptom

I am trying to connect SAP Solution Manager and SAP Signavio Process Manager. Unfortunately, I only get the following error message: "Secure communication issue - check certificate and keystore".

Resolution

This error message is displayed when a connection to your SAP Solution Manager server instance via HTTPS (secure connection) cannot be established. There may be different reasons for this behavior. Therefore, please check the following points:

  1. SAP Solution Manager instance is authenticated with a self-signed SSL (X.509) certificate - in this case, please read the article "SSL certificate for the Signavio connector to SAP Solution Manager 7.2"

  2. SAP Solution Manager instance requires client-side authentication - if that's the case, you'll need to upload a keystore for client-side authentication in the connector settings, which contains a private key. This way, your SAP Solution Manager server can check if requests really come from the SAP Signavio Solution Manager connector "Keystore for client-side authentication"

  3. SAP Solution Manager instance does not allow connections from Signavio - please check settings in your network. You can find information about the required permissions here: Network & firewall requirements

  4. SAP Solution Manager instance does not allow connections on the specified port - please check settings in your network and adjust the port number if necessary.

  5. SAP Solution Manager instance only allows authentication via SSO - please check your server settings.
