3161027 - SGX import creates duplicates of dictionary entries in SAP Signavio Process Manager

Symptom

User imported a SGX file from Workspace A and to Workspace B.
User does not want existing dictionary entries to be overwritten so option 'Overwrite existing dictionary entries' was NOT chosen.
The new process has new dictionary entries and also entries which exist on Workspace B.
After the import it is found that the existing entries have been duplicated to the dictionary in Workspace B.
It was expected that the existing ones would be kept and the process are linked to it, as it is on Workspace A. Now the duplicate entries will need to be merged.
Is this expected and can it be improved?

Resolution

The function works as designed.
The option "Import dictionary entries" really imports all dictionary entries of the exported diagram(s) independently if you already got the same entries in your workspace. By the way, it is an edge case that one workspace partially has the same dictionary entries as another one.
As an alternative for importing dictionary entries, I would recommend using the options of our dictionary Excel import.

Unfortunately, option to import only non-existing dictionary entries via the SGX import does not exist.

As we understand the confusion, we will report that to our technical writing team to hopefully get them to improve at least the hint text of this option to avoid increased work when having to merge the duplicates as a result of the import.
