Symptom

How do we sync our updates made in Signavio back into SAP Solution Manager without creating duplicate copies?

Resolution

The first export to SAP Solution Manager always creates a completely new folder & process structure - see Export to SAP Solution Manager

In working with minimal scopes, the folder created in the initial export will not be included in the scope, so by default it will create duplicates.

In order for subsequent exports to update these structures, they need to be included in the scope definition. To do this, adjust your scope definition within SAP Solution Manager to include the folder that the Signavio export created. Then all following exports will update the content of that folder. Alternatively you can create a second scope that includes the whole business processes section to avoid this issue.
