3163444 - "Generate Operation" function is available only for some certain order types when you create a production order for a material without a production version

If you create a production order for a material without a production version, the system will show an error message saying "No production version found". Only for certain order types, for example YBW1, there is a button "Generate Operation" available with the error massage. For other order types, the button will not appear.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Create a material without a production version.
2. Create a production order of the material using app Create Production Order.
3. After entering the essential quantity and scheduling information, if the order type is YBW1, the "Generate Operation" button will appear with the error massage. For other order types, the button will not appear.

The "Generate Operation" button appears because you have maintained the default operations for the order type YBW1. After you click the button, the operations of the order will be generated as the default values. For other order types, since the default operations are missing, the system will not give you the option to generate them manually.

You can do this customizing in the cloud system through SSCUI 102534 "Define Default Values".
If you want the "Generate Operation" button available for certain order types, you just need to maintain the default operations for the order types in this SSCUI.
