3164804 - PDF Summary Generates With 'Old' Data - Object Refresh Needed

When you generate an object summary right after a recent change in the UI, the preview or summary will still show the 'old' data (not including your recent change). After refreshing the object and re-triggering the preview, the correct data will be shown.

There are various ways of reproducing this. For example, you could take approval actions (submit or revoke approval) and have a workflow rule which updates fields in the relevant object accordingly.

The reason is that the data used for the Preview is the transaction data of the UI user where the Workflow change is not available at all because it is done by a different user  (SAP_SYSTEM) in a different transaction. Therefore the workflow change can only be updated to the user transaction by reloading the data from the DB ( via the Refresh button).

However there is one option to do the preview without Refresh: change the timing of the workflow rule to ‘On Every Save’.

With that, the workflow change will be done within the same transaction of the UI user.
