3165819 - "Could not get metadata" error occurs when creating a new story

Symptom

Error "Could not get metadata" occurs when creating a new story.

Environment

People Analytics Report Story

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to instance
  2. proceed to report center
  3. create new story
  4. drag any schema within the query
  5. Object is greyed out and produce the error "Could not get Metadata".

Cause

Metadata needs to be resynced.

Resolution

 

The issue is resolved with the following steps : 

  1. Go to Provisioning and go to the affected company
  2. Search for Clear cache under MDF Cache Tool and then run it
  3. Next, run the job "MDF Object Definition To DB SYNC"
  4. After the job completes, run the "Save Changes To Report Configuration Object Job"
  5. After the job completes, proceed to configuration for People Analytics and run "Refresh SAC Live Connection"
  6. Once that completes, login to the system and check under Manage Data.  Report Object Configuration Entity and Report Schema Configuration Entity  should now be available along with their data.
