3166443 - New user unable to log in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

A new user gets the error "Login Error: Fail to login to SAP Analytics Cloud" when logging in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) configured with proxy SAML Authentication identity provider (IdP)

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Proxy SAML Authentication identity provider (IdP)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Click the link presented in the welcome email
  2. Login IDP successfully
  3. Direct to SAP Accounts Two Factor Verification and login successfully
  4. Fail to direct to SAC homepage, showing the error message mentioned in the Symptom

 

Cause

  • In SAML Response, the following message could be found: <StatusMessage>Failed to authenticate user.</StatusMessage></Status></Response>
  • Since the proxy IdP has been used, the Name ID (Login Name) returned by ADFS does not find a corresponding user inside the Identity Authentication Service (IAS)

Resolution

  1. Go to the User Management page in IAS and find out the new user
  2. Add the Login Name for the new user
