Symptom
After upgraded BI Platform, error "Unknown connection XXX on system XXX. To access connection XXX, log on to a different BusinessObjects BI platform system" occurs when opening AO workbook from BIP or local PC.
Environment
- SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office 2.X
- SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.X
Reproducing the Issue
1. Open an AO workbook from local PC or BIP
2. Error occurs.
Cause
The user is not having sufficient rights to access the OLAP Connection.
Resolution
- Log in to Central Management Console (CMC) as a user with Administrative rights.
- Access the OLAP Connection folder.
- Right click on the OLAP Connection and select User Security.
- Add the target user / user group.
- Click on "assign security" and grant 'View on Demand' access level on the OLAP Connection to the user / user group.
