3166858 - Add Contact button greyed out in the middle of contact creation process in Client Side Outlook Add-in

Symptom

When trying to create a new Contact via the Client Side Addin Outlook Add-in Side Pane and when we minimize/navigate to a different screen and return to the creation screen, the 'Add Contact' button is greyed out.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Click on the "+" icon in the Outlook Add-in Side Pane to create a Contact.
  2. Navigate to a different window. (Example: to look up for some information in the signature of the email body of the new contact).
  3. Now, return to the creation screen, the "Add Contact" button is greyed out.

Cause

"Add Contact" button will be enabled only when the "SAP Cloud for Customer Contacts" is selected for contact creation.
So, when we click on the "+" icon in the Addin for contact creation, the above mentioned folder is selected and taken into consideration.
When the screen is switched to a different window then, the above mentioned folder will no longer remain selected.

Resolution

  1. So navigate to People icon (located in the bottom left corner) or depending on the layout.
  2. Select the SAP Cloud for Customer Contacts folder.
  3. Now, return to the Contact creation screen which was minimized.
  4. The "Add Contact" will be enabled again.
