3169548 - MDI: Manual steps required for Business Scenarios which will be upgraded to the latest ODM version 3.0.0

Please note this KBA is only relevant if you have activated the business scenarios to retrieve cost centers from MDI (Master Data Integration) or send Workforce, Organizational Units or Job Classifications to MDI.

Starting with the 2205 release the following Business Scenarios will be upgraded to the latest ODM version 3.0.0. This requires a few manual steps from our customers.

• Workforce Replication from EC to SAP Master Data Integration
• Job Classification Repl. from EC to SAP Master Data Integration
• Org Unit Replication from EC to SAP Master Data Integration
• Cost Center Replication from SAP Master Data Integration to EC

This KBA describes which steps need to be performed by the customer to upgrade the business scenarios to ODM version 3.0.0.

The upgrade can be initiated and performed by the customer without the need of raising an ServiceNow case.

The upgrade process itself should take less than 1 hour if there are no unforeseeable issues and should be initiated right after the release upgrade to b2205. Maintenance of master data for the affected entities e.g., Cost Centers, will not be affected by the upgrade and can be continued during the upgrade. Also, no other business processes should be affected.

Prerequisites

The upgrade requires read access to Manage Data for the IntegrationProcessDefinition object and access to delete and maintain Business Scenarios in Integration Center. In error handling cases it is also useful to be able to check logs in Execution Manager.

Replications from SAP Master Data Integration to EC

1. Open the Business Scenario in Edit mode and note the scheduled version
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
2.  Stop the schedule of the Business Scenario
   
   
   
   
3.  Note down all the editable configuration parameters of the Business Scenario e.g., REST API URL and selected OAuth Configurations.
4.  Open the IntegrationProcessDefinition in Manage Data for the respective Business Scenario and click on the Details for the scheduled version noted in step 1
   
   
   
5.  Note down the nextDeltaToken
   
   
   
6.  Trigger the deletion of the Business Scenario and confirm the deletion
   
   
   
   
7.  Reactivate the Business Scenario and start the Configuration
   
   
   
8.  Maintain the business scenario with the same configuration as noted down in the previous steps. Most importantly please maintain the Delta Token to match the one noted down in step 5
   
   
   
9.  Once you have maintained all required configuration including the schedule, please use the Set Schedule button to save and schedule the Business Scenario

Replications from EC to SAP Master Data Integration

Please follow the same steps as described in the Section Replications from SAP Master Data Integration to EC. Instead of steps 4 and 5 please note down and reconfigure the Last Run Time
