Resolution

!IMPORTANT! The manage templates is a very powerful tool to be used and should be handled carefully. Each change made will reflect directly into the system and your configurations, if you're not comfortable using that please reach out to your implementation partner or to some authorized partner.

Note: It is not suggested to explicitly delete any field, as deleting it will erase all the information stored under the affected field for all candidates which means reportable information will no longer be reportable and this information will also not be recoverable. If the field is no longer needed, you can remove it from the application template by removing the permissions related to that, on that way the information stored under the affected field will not be deleted and the field will only be hidden on the UI, you can recover/unhide the field later anytime if needed.

Pre-requisites:

Make sure you have access to Manage Recruiting Templates, if you have not and want to enable it, check article 2157630 - Enabling Manage Templates in Recruiting.

Steps to delete any field:

  1.  Access Admin Center > On Tool box search for "Manage Templates":

  2. Go to Job Application:
  3. Click in the Application Template where the field you want to delete is located at:
  4. In this page you are going to see the option to select to see the fields defined, so click in it:
  5. You will now see the list of fields defined in your Application Template, find the field ID you want to delete, click on the trash icon and confirm the delete section by clicking "Ok". When you are done click in "Finished" (or "Done" depending on the language you're using) in the bottom of the screen:
  6. Now you are back to the previous screen, you just need to click in "Save as Draft" and then "Publish":
