3170389 - You Are Not Able to Change the Sales Order Number Range

When you changing the sales order number range, you get error:end number must be greater than current number.

The error is due to the fact that you had changed the sales order current number to a very big number. Since there is no sales order created yet in the system, you request to reset the sales order number range and current number back to the default value.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview view.
3. Search "Number Ranges for Sales Orders, Customer Contracts, and Customer Returns", open it.
4. Select Sales Order, try to change the number range.
5. click SAVE and got error: end number must be greater than current number.

You have modified the sales order 'Current Number' to a very big number. Once the current number is modified, it is not possible to decrease number again.

SAP will also not able to change the number range manually from backend due to the high risk of the database inconsistence.

This is the current system designed behavior.
