3171285 - SUM: RUN_DMO_EARLY_DEPOOLING phase has ASSERTION_FAILED error

Symptom

You are running an upgrade via Software Update Manager (SUM) 2.0 SP13 <= patch level 0. During the MAIN_SHDRUN/RUN_DMO_EARLY_DEPOOLING phase, you run into an error where the batch job for RSUPGJOB is aborted. If you check the dump in ST22 in the shadow system you see:

    Runtime Errors         ASSERTION_FAILED
    ABAP Program           RADBTDDF
    Application Component  BC-DWB-DIC-AC
    Date and Time          29.03.2022 16:45:45 (CET)
    Short Text

     The ASSERT condition was violated.
