3171333 - Freight is Not Displayed in Basic View When Creating New Invoice

You are going to create a new invoice, in the basic view, the Freight field is not displayed. However, if you check the Pricing tab of this new invoice, you can see the Total Freight is shown.

1. Go to the Customer Invoicing work center.
2. Go to the Invoice Requests view.
3. Select invoice request ABC and DEF, and click Invoice. (ABC and DEF represent the ID of invoice request)
4. In the new invoice, you are not able to find Freight field in the total pricing section of the Basic View.
5. Click View All, and go to Pricing tab, the Freight is actuall shows in total pricing part.

For freights, there are 2 types of freight conditions in the system: grouped freight conditions and non-grouped freight conditions.

For non-grouped freight conditions (which is the item level net freight, 7PRD and gross item freight, 8PRD), system always shows the header's price component value as this is what gets aggregated on the header and is read-only.

However, for grouped condition of freight (which is the header level net, 7PR8 and header gross freight, 8PR8), system always shows the value in the header's amount field. This is because the user can provide this value in the UI and that gets proportionally distributed to the item components. However, when we are combining invoice requests to form an invoice, the header component gets created by an aggregation of the items and if each item's freight amount is different, no value is taken over on the header's amount field and only the header's freight price component has a value.

 The above logic is used to fill the values in the invoice basic view.
