Unable to view Catalogs: cross-company purchasing

Users are having difficulty finding contract items in the catalog as the default view is based on the Company Code default on each user's profile. Many internal incidents are being raised from various areas of the business. Customer has a requirement such that when an end user selects Create > Requisition the Search > Catalog view opens. 

Suggested changing this so that the New Requisition view opens, and the user is required to name the purchase requisition (PR) and select the company code before proceeding to the catalog to add items to the PR.  This simple change would ensure that the users choose the Company Code to purchase against, rather than having a default applied based on their profile and being frustrated when they cannot find the catalog items they are seeking against another Company Code.
