3178386 - Error: "503: Service Unavailable" in Managed Gateway for Spend&Network

Symptom

When I send documents through Managed Gateway for Spend&Network the transaction fails with the following error message:

Error: Service Unavailable

When downloading the validator response from the error message, I find the following error:

Error: org.apache.cxf.interceptor.Fault: Could not send Message., cause: org.apache.cxf.transport.http.HTTPException: HTTP response '503: Service Unavailable.

SAP Cloud Connector (SCC)

Product

SAP Connectivity service all versions ; SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management and SAP Business Network all versions
