Symptom
- ASE errorlog reports "Current process infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)" at address ptn__setup_pdeslookupopt
- When a client is inserting a row into a partitioned table and another client is running alter table drop partition command on the same table at the same time
- The infected user task held the Pdes Chain Spinlock, so ASE automatically shuts down
- Errorlog entries include:
Current process (0xXXXXXXXX) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x0x0000000001af0cf2 (ptn__setup_pdeslookupopt+0x2b2) ...
...
Spinlock Pdes Chain Spinlocks at address 0x0000000145808e80 owned by <kpid number>
- The error may be accompanied by a stacktrace referencing the functions:
ptn__setup_pdeslookupopt
ptn__get_pdes
ptn_rowcopy
srch_get_idxptn
dol_insert
ins_insert
insert_all
