3186208 - Function enhancement of using 'Is Subcontractor' in Guided Buying is planned to be available after 2402 Quarterly Release

Businesses in some regions, such as in Japan subcontract Act is a legal matter, are required to categorize their suppliers as subcontractors to ensure timely invoicing of the orders placed with such suppliers. SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing provides the capability to set a field that indicates whether a supplier is a subcontractor when creating a purchase requisition (PR) with selecting a supplier for a line item, the subcontractor field shows the value from the supplier master data.

Compared to the capability of replicating subcontractor field value from the supplier master data in SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing, current behavior is that Field 'Is Subcontractor' is not populated correctly in Guided Buying, the field is not showing the correct value because the 'Is Subcontractor' field defaulted to Unspecified instead of Yes.

After planned 2402 Quarterly Release availability (check Planned date in details), Guided Buying (GB) offers support for The Japan Subcontract Act by populating subcontractor information based on supplier master data and providing in-app messaging for editing subcontractor information.

With enhanced function, when you create a requisition in GB, the 'Is Subcontractor' value defaults to the value from your supplier master data. The value could be any of the following:

• Yes: If the supplier is a subcontractor

• No: If the supplier isn't a subcontractor

If you change the 'Is Subcontractor' value (including 'Unspecified' as well) on a requisition, information and warning messages display. These messages help to prevent the value from being incorrectly entered.
