Symptom
Integration Center has some guardrails that help improving the performance of ongoing jobs and recurring failures in integrations. This KBA will list all of them.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- Integration Center
- Intelligent Services Center (ISC)
Resolution
New Guardrails introduced in 1H 2025:
1 - Threshold limit of jobs running reduced to 8 hours
As of 1H 2025, the threshold limit of jobs running in Integration Center will be reduced to 8 hours. After reaching the threshold limit, the integration jobs are auto terminated:
Internal reference for this change: SFINT-19186.
2 - Default time-based filtering for new integrations
As of 1H 2025, default time-based filtering will be introduced for new integrations (and only for any new integration with source COAPI/API). What this means is that, for any new integration, a "Modified Since = Last Runtime" filter will be set in the Time-Based Filters:
Note: as part of this enhancement, an error message will be displayed when a non filterable entity is used, e.g.:
Internal reference for this change: SFINT-19278.
3 - Prevent files larger than 2 GB for import
With the 1H 2025 Release, the file size of import (inbound) integrations will be checked before loading into the memory; if it exceeds 2 GB, the job will fail.
Internal reference for this change: SFINT-19187
4 - Reduce the Data Exceed Limit from 4GB to 2GB
As of 1H 2025, for COAPI/API to SFTP jobs only, if the data exceeds 2GB, the below message will be provided in Execution Manager: "The data file exceeds the maximum allowed limit of 2 GB. Please reduce the file size by splitting the data into multiple integrations.".
Internal reference for this change: SFINT-19079
5 - Reduce the pagination option in case of attachment
As of 1H 2025, for both existing and new Integration Center jobs, the maximum allowed pagination option in case of attachment will be 100 (as opposed to the previous 1000).
Internal reference for this change: SFINT-19249

Other Guardrails (still in place):
1 ) If the Intelligent Service integrations has recurring failures and reach a threshold of 6000 consecutive failed integrations, the integrations are automatically delinked with Intelligent Service Center. You can view the logs of the failed integrations in Execution Manager.
You will receive email notifications for failed integrations that reach the limit of 2000 and 4000 concurrent failures. We recommend that you fix the job to resolve the issue.
Please be aware of the following:
- If the terminated job is a scheduled job, then it will be auto run on the next scheduled time.
- If the job is linked to an MDI scenario, this guardrail does not apply (i.e. the limit of 18 hours still applies).
- If the terminated job was run only once or is not a scheduled job and got terminated after 18 hours, the job will have to run manually again.
2) IMPORTANT: For “Process Definition Not found” errors, the threshold limit is 20 recurring failures .
Process definition not found refers to the associated integration being deleted from Integration Center and when the event gets triggered the definition to execute, it is not found:
3 ) GENERAL NOTES / FAQ
3.1) Jobs that continuously fail for a certain number of times in a given no. of days will also be auto-cancelled as follows:
A) For Integration Center Jobs, if the Job fails 50 times from the last 51 days, the Job will be auto cancelled by the S2 processes.
B) The exception to this rule are newly scheduled jobs, as these will be auto-cancelled if the job continuously fails for 10 days.
3.2) COAPI stands for Common Object API - this is a term internally used by our teams and has no impact to our customers (you only need to be aware that Integration Center is built on SF OData v2 API)
3.3) How would I check which existing Integration Center report sends a file larger than 2 GB to an SFTP destination from SAP SuccessFactors?
There isn't a way to confirm the size of the file generated by SF before the runtime, as this varies from integration to integration. You would only be able to confirm it after the integration effectively runs.
3.4) "You can't import files larger than 2GB. If the file size exceeds this limit, the import job may fail." Could you clarify what is meant by "import" in this context?
Import here means Integration Center pulling data from a file placed in an SFTP. This is called an "inbound integration", refer to the guide page https://help.sap.com/docs/successfactors-platform/using-integration-center/creating-inbound-integrations and KBA 0002670200 for more details.
3.5) The threshold limit of Integration Center jobs is reduced to 8 hours. Jobs exceeding this threshold limit are automatically terminate. Does this mean that if I have 200 integration reports scheduled to run in a single day, and the first 150 jobs take a total of 8 hours to complete, the remaining 50 jobs will fail?
No, this means that if a single job starts running and it exceeds 8 hours, it will be terminated. Each job runs separately and one job will not affect the other.
3.6) Note for Support teams: please take a look at the notes in the Internal Memo
