3190802 - Is there a job that deletes comments that are no longer used in the background in SAP Analytics Cloud?

Symptom

You would like to know if there is a job that deletes the data point comments that are no longer used in the background. If so, how often does the job run?

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

Resolution

The short answer is no.

In details, we don't delete comments when the data is unbooked.

During metadata update, for Ex: change in description, addition/deletion of members, or even change in the hierarchical structure for the dimension members, a job is triggered for commenting in the backend which will regenerate the comment context.
However, this is not the case when there is data change for a dimension member.
Also in any case we don't delete the comments.

In the network trace, the commenting request would still return comments for unbooked cells, but they won't be displayed in the table.
