3191722 - Error When Cancelling Sales Order From the OWL: Sales Order Cannot be Cancelled; Open the Document and Check Details

Sales Order XYZ (XYZ represents the Sales Order ID) cannot be cancelled in the OWL (Object Work List) via the Action button and the Reject option the following error occurs:

1. Select the Sales Orders view
2. Select Sales Order XYZ in the OWL.
3. Click on the Actions button and select Reject.
4. Enter a Cancellation Reason e.g. Other Reason.
5. Click OK.
6. The following error occurs:

A Sales Order can only be cancelled from the OWL via the Actions button and the Reject option, if the Reason for Rejection field on Header Level of the Sales Order (General tab) is enabled.

In the General tab of Sales Order XYZ, you can see that the Reason for Rejection is not enabled.

Since the Action -> Reject option cancels the Sales Order via the Reason for Rejection in the General tab, and this field is read only, the error occurs. 

To cancel the Sales Order you need to cancel the items individually:

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Select the Sales Orders view
3. Open Sales Order XYZ.
4. Navigate to the Items tab.
5. Select Line Item YY (YY represents the line item number of an item that was not previously cancelled).
6. Enter the Reason for Rejection e.g. Other Reason.
7. Repeat this for all Line Items that were not already cancelled.
8. Save your changes.
