Symptom

  • RESTORE DATABASE fails with error:  "Incorrect or missing encryption key"
  • When attempting restore after upgrade to IQ 16.1 from 16.0
  • Error => 

  (dba)>  RESTORE DATABASE ... Key '......'

           ... << hang for 30 minutes!! >>
       Could not execute statement.
       Incorrect or missing encryption key
       SQLCODE=-840, ODBC 3 State="08001"
