Symptom
In third-party inter-company document flow, serial number fulfilled in outbound delivery is not brought to new third-party delivery notification automatically.
Environment
SAP Businee ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
The whole document flow starts from sales order AAA, company CP1 sells goods to customer CT, but need to firstly purchase goods from company CP2 (through purchase order BBB), and for CP2 side, conversely it sells the same goods to CP1 (through sales order CCC). For outbound delivery OD1 of sales order CCC, it issues goods to customer CT directly.
- Go to work center Outbound Logistics.
- Go to view Outbound Deliveries.
- Search OD1, click Edit.
- Select tab Detailed Line Items, select sub tab Serial Numbers, there is a serial numbers SN1.
- Go to work center Third-Party Order Fulfillment.
- Go to view Third-Party Purchase Orders.
- Search purchase order BBB, click New Third-Party Delivery Notification.
- In the screen "New Third-Party Delivery Notification", select tab Line Items, select sub tab Serial Numbers, there are no serial number.
Cause
- If the third-party delivery notification is created manually, then the serial number in corresponding outbound delivery will not be brought to this notification and you need to input it manually again.
- If the third-party delivery notification is created through A2A message (which means it is created automatically once the corresponding outbound delivery released), the serial number in corresponding outbound delivery will be brought to this notification automatically.
For your case, since your third-party delivery notification was created manually, serial number will not be there automatically.
Resolution
Please make all necessary settings according to this blog "Intercompany Stock Transfer" and create new document flow to validate above situation 2.
