3193233 - Error "invalid manager ID" during New Hire Data Review - Onboarding

The error message "Invalid Manager ID", appears at the end of New hire data review or during Rehire Verification Task

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 

1. Start the New Hire data Review step or Rehire Verification Task for Rehires
2. Fill all the necessary fields
3. At the last page error appears

Cause 1:

An inactive Manager was selected during the process or an inactive manager is related to the position.

Cause 2:

This issue may occur when the manager recorded in the employee’s termination record is currently involved in an active onboarding process.

When a manager is undergoing onboarding (for example, they are currently classified as an onboardee), the system validation performed during the Rehire Verification Task may fail when referencing the historical manager stored in the employee’s termination data. As a result, the system returns the "Invalid Manager" error even though the manager is otherwise valid/Aactive in EC

Solution 1:

Review if the Selected manager is active on the system. Also, review on Position Org chart if the manager related to the position is active.

Solution 2:

Check the termination record of the rehired employee in EC.

If the manager at the time of termination currently has an active onboarding event, perform the following steps:

1. Identify the manager recorded in the employee’s termination record.
2. Verify whether that manager currently has an active onboarding process.
3. Temporarily update the manager in the termination record to a manager with an active employee status (for example, the new hiring manager).
4. Perform the Rehire Verification Task again in Onboarding
5. After the onboarding process is successfully completed, the manager value can be reverted if required.

This allows the rehire verification process to complete successfully.
