3193422 - sapinit.service cannot be started when a RedHat Linux server is booted

Symptom

  • A RedHat Linux system hosting an SAP application server has configured the sapinit.service to start via systemd at boot time.
  • The service sapinit.service cannot be started and with "systemctl status sapinit" the customer sees the status "red" and the following message:

           sapinit[1335]: File /usr/sap/sapservices not found.
