3194848 - When changing manager, a new position is auto generated and assigned to the employee

After changing one employee's manager, a new position is auto generated and assigned to the employee.

SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite Core

• Employee Central

1. Go to employee profile of sample employee

2. Edit job information >> select effective date, event = data change, event reason = data change, change manager to a new one >> save >> you will see a new position is auto generated and assigned to the employee

When Leading Hierarchy under ‘Position Management Settings’ is Reporting Hierarchy: 

If the employee’s position is a shared position, a new position is created (based on the existing one) below the new manager’s position.

There are 2 resolutions:

1.change Leading Hierarchy to 'Position Hierarchy'

or

2.set 'multiple incumbent' of the employee's position as No
