3195815 - An unexpected technical error occurs while trying to open Data action in SAP Analytics Cloud

Attempting to open any Data Action that contains an advanced formula step for a specific model or models results in the error:

• message: "An unexpected technical error occurred and has been logged.
• errorDetails: [{messageId: "INTERNAL_TECHNICAL_ERROR",…},…]

SAC Version 2022.2 and later releases

Try to open any data action that contains an Advanced Formula step for the affected model.

The data action will not open and error message will be displayed.

Data Actions that do not contain an advanced formula (cross-model copy actions for instance) will open without error.

Similar data actions for other models or a previously created copy of the model will not be affected.

Issue was due to a code error in handling validation of data actions when a dimension is deleted from a model.

Issue will be fixed in the next patch release for all versions.

An interim workaround is to add back the deleted dimension and member to the model which will allow you to open the data action again, and then delete the reference to the dimension from all affected data actions before deleting the dimension again.
