3196047 - SQL Anywhere service shuts down, writing error (1) to the Application Event Log - SQL Anywhere

Symptom

  • The SQL Anywhere service sporadically shuts down, writing errors like the following to the Application Event log:
    <ServiceName>: Fatal error:  A disk write to file "<path>\<database>.log (or <database>.db)" failed with error code: (1)
  • Other errors written to the Application Event log may include:
    DllHost (xxxxx) WebCacheLocal: Unable to write to section 3 while flushing logfile C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache\V01.log. Error -1022 (0xfffffc02).
  • The System Event log contains errors like:
    An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 during a paging operation.
