3196203 - The table does not refresh and error "Conversion could not determine valid conversion rate for value(s)" is found in the console log in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC):

  • When you open a story, the table of this story keeps loading and cannot be refreshed.
  • In the Developer Tools (F12) -> Console tab, you see the following error message:
    • [Error] Server: (#42014) Caught exception : exception 70000719: Conversion( "SignedDataConversion" ), row XXX: could not determine valid conversion rate for value(s) YYY from unit 'A' to unit 'B' on date yyyy-mm-dd 00:00:00.0000000 for conversion_type 'ZZZ'
  • However, this conversion rate exists in the rate table.

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)  2022.2.12

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a story.

Cause

The issue may happen after you transport the SAC contents from another tenant.

Resolution

  1. Open the model behind this table.
  2. Open the Version dimension.
  3. For the version shown in the error message, change the "Rate Version" to another value.
  4. Save the model.
  5. For the same version, change the "Rate Version" back to the original value.
  6. Save the model.
  7. Open the story again.
