3196971 - Party Role in Account Team of a Customer Not Copied to Opportunity Created

Symptom

You have an account that has a party role of type Sales Employee Party / Employee Responsible Party / Partner Employee Party / Partner Contact Party / Employee Responsible (Account Hierarchy) / Approver Party or Account Team Member maintained in its 'Account Team' view. When creating an opportunity for this account, you expected to see this party copied to the 'Sales Team' view of the newly created opportunity.

You may have read in KBA 2692028 that 'if the role category of the role is any of the following, it will be displayed in the Sales Team list automatically: Employee Responsible Party, Sales Employee Party, Partner Contact Party, Employee Responsible (Account Hierarchy), Approver Party or Account Team Member' so you believe this is a bug.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Customers work center.
  2. Open the Accounts work center view.
  3. Open the account ABC (where ABC is the ID of an account).
  4. Click in the Account Team view.
  5. Notice the DEF party role maintained (where DEF is a Party Role of type 'Sales Employee Party / Employee Responsible Party / Partner Employee Party / Partner Contact Party / Employee Responsible (Account Hierarchy) / Approver Party or Account Team Member' - you can check this in the Business Configuration Fine-Tuning activity 'Party Role Definition').
  6. Click in the Opportunities work center view.
  7. Click in the + icon.
  8. Fill in required information and click in Save and Open.
  9. Open the 'Sales Team' view.

You do not see DEF maintained.

The Start Date and/or End Date of the party role are not valid anymore.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Customers work center.
  2. Open the Accounts work center view.
  3. Open Account ABC (where ABC is the ID of the Account).
  4. Go to the Account Team view.
  5. In the DEF Party Role (where DEF is a party role), change the Start Date/End Date validity to make sure opportunities created are within its range. These fields may be hidden via adaptation mode.
