3198987 - How to Integrate By-Product into Final Inspection - Production

There are some by-products during production process, and you wonder is it possible to check the quality of by-products and then receive those qualified into warehouse, like what we do for output product.

SAP Business ByDesign

ByDesign only supports Final Inspection - Production against the one output product in production model and doesn't support the same process against by-product.

This is system standard behavior.

Nevertheless, you can add by-product into make/check task and confirm its quantity without checking its quality as below:

1. In production model, under tab Bill of Operations - Product Assignment, the button Assign By-Product is enabled for Produce Activity, but disabled for Quality Check Activity.
2. If the by-product is assigned to Produce Activity in production model, in corresponding make task confirming screen, the by-product will display under tab Confirmation - Output Products, its confirmed quantity will be received directly into warehouse. If you click Add Row, the confirmed quantity of new product will be received into warehouse, with Product Type as "By-Product" (you can confirm this through checking the corresponding production confirmation).
3. In check task confirming screen, under tab Confirmation - Output Products, you can click Add Row, the confirmed quantity of new product will be received into warehouse, with Product Type as "By-Product" (you can confirm this through checking the corresponding production confirmation).
