3199585 - Purchase order item for intercompany time record could not be determined

You receive warning message 'Purchase order item for intercompany time record could not be determined' when you do a time recording.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Home work center.
2. Select the Self-Services Overview.
3. Select the Edit Time Sheet link.
4. Update the times and select the Release button and choose Release All.
5. The system throws the warning message 'Purchase order item for intercompany time record could not be determined'

The document flow is as following: Project  -> Project Purchase Request  -> Purchase Request  -> Purchase Order  -> Sales Order  -> an Intercompany Project

System does not determine a purchase order item because there exists no intercompany project.

Intercompany project has not been created out of the sales order because the item type is not project related.

The sales order item type should be 'Service - time and maerial (project)'.

The prerequisite for determining the correct sales order item type is:

Sales organization and distribution channel combination, which is maintained in the product master data under Sales tab - Distribution Chains choose relevant Sales organization same as sales order and choose the Item Group 'PBTM - Service - time and material (project)'.

Or

Correct Sales organization, the sales unit has to be determined correctly in sales order. For more information, please kindly refer to KBA: 2674223 - Item Type in the Intercompany Sales Order Changed Automatically

Once the intercompany sales order is in open status and the intercompany project in released status, the purchase order item will be default when you do a time recording.
