3199912 - Version number in control panel is different compared to the version shown in Analysis for Office

Windows Control Panel shows different version number compared to the version shown in Analysis for Office.

Analysis for Microsoft Office

1) Go to Windows Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features

2) Check the version of SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office (i.e. 2.8.1300.8253)

3) Open Analysis for Office 

4) Go to File->Analysis->About Analysis and notice the version 2.8.1300.98253

There are a File Version and  Product Version 

Control Panel shows the file version of C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Office AddIn\BiOfficeLauncher.exe

File version field only allows 4 digits so it was decided to skip the first digit (9) and display the rest as a file version.

The actual product version is available in Analysis for Microsoft Office under File->Analysis->About Analysis
