3200444 - Warning Message "Export is locked for the tenant" or "Export is not supported in this type of tenant" in Export Software Collection App

Symptom

When opening Export Software Collection app getting warning message:

  • "Export is locked for the tenant" in P-system.
  • "Export is not supported in this type of tenant" in Development tenant (080).
  • "Export is not supported in this type of tenant" in Customizing tenant (100) and Test system.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open "Export Software Collection" app
  2. Warning message is triggered

Cause

  • Export is not permitted in the Production System.
  • Export Software Collection app is used only to export Key User Extensibility. It cannot be achieved in the Development tenant (080).
  • Export functionality is disabled as target system is not yet activated.

Resolution

  • While transporting a software collection, use "Export Software Collection" app in the source system and "Import Collection" app in the target system
    • In a 2-SL, use Export Software Collection app in the Test system and Import Collection app in Production system.
    • In a 3-SL, use Export Software Collection app in the Customizing tenant (100) and Test system for exporting. Use Import Collection app in the Test and Production system for importing.
  • For Developer Extensibility, custom ABAP code can be implemented in the Development tenant using ABAP Development Tools (ADT). Changes are recorded on workbench requests and can be released using the Transport Organizer view in ADT. Refer to Transport Organizer.
  • Activate the target system to enable the export functionality in the source system.
