3201344 - Application error when sending offer for approval

When sending an offer approval to the next step, the system throws an application error

1. Move Candidate to an Offer status
2. Take Action>Offer>Offer Approval
3. Fill in required details and send offer to next approver
4. System will throw the following application error:

From the backend logs, this issue is due to a text area field on the offer approval page having exceeded 4000 characters.

For a text area field that is editable in the legacy offer approval page, it has a limit of 4000 characters. It's an infrastructure limitation and the DB field only supports 4000 characters, even though the text area field on a Job Application has no character limit.

To prevent you from facing an application error on the page, engineering are introducing a field validation. The field validation will display an error message below the field, when the user inputs more than 4000 characters and clicks on save or send button at the bottom of the page. It will not allow to save or send offer approval until the characters are sized down to 4000 characters.

Engineering have added a validation to prevent input of more than 4000 characters and this fix will be available with b2211.

The current workaround for the customer issue is to limit the characters to 4000 in text area field.
