3202358 - We were unable to initiate this onboarding process - Onboarding 1.0

Symptom

  • We have both Onboarding 1.0 and Onboarding enabled, yet we have not fully configure Onboarding.
  • When we try to initiate onboarding 1.0 following error displays
  • 'We were unable to initiate this onboarding process (2.0) because the values for the following fields are missing or,
    not mapped: [Hiring Manager - (reference ID: hiringManager)]'

 

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
  • SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to BizX
  2. Proxy as the recruiter
  3. Navigate to Recruiting
  4. Click on the candidate in the correct requisition
  5. Open candidate's record > Take Action
  6. Initiate Onboarding,  error display 
  7. 'We were unable to initiate this onboarding process (2.0) because the values for the following fields are missing,
    or not mapped: [Hiring Manager - (reference ID: hiringManager)]'

Cause

  • The Hiring Manager field is mapped in Recruit-Hire-Data mapping tool and in the setup Onboarding 1.0 Integration tool.
  • Value is passed for the manager field in Onboarding 1.0, but not in Onboarding even though it's mapped for both.

Resolution

Please update the Recruit-to-Hire Data Mapping to use the correct RCM field ID: hiringManagerName (not hiringManager).

Because both Onboarding solutions are enabled in the same instance, use the Onboarding Integration Setup tool to distinguish which product should initiate:

  • Navigate to BizX and open the Onboarding Integration Setup tool.
  • Select “Apply Onboarding to Job Requisitions that meet ANY of the following criteria.”
  • Add filters based on your business needs (for example, Country equals Hungary).

With this configuration, Onboarding will initiate only for requisitions matching the defined criteria (e.g., Country = Hungary), while Onboarding 1.0 will initiate for all other cases.
