3203271 - Error "Choose the transaction type appropriate for the existing asset values" - S/4HANA Cloud

Symptom

When posting depreciation in App Post Depreciation Manually - Unplanned and Planned (ABAAL) following error is received:

"Choose the transaction type appropriate for the existing asset values"

Environment

S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open App Post Depreciation Manually - Unplanned and Planned
  2. Select Transaction key
  3. Add parameters and amount
  4. Click 'Post'
  5. Error appears: "Choose the transaction type appropriate for the existing asset values"

Cause

Transation keys for manual depreciation (600-655) can only be used for assets that have depreciation key MANU

Resolution

Change the depreciation key on the asset to MANU in order to use the app for manual depreciation
